MY MORNING ROUTINE VS MY GOALS MORNING ROUTINE

Image
Like many young women of my generation, I find binge watching morning routines, evening routines or day in the life vlogs on You-tube, Instagram and TikTok awe-fully satisfying. Some of the routines I watch are so dreamy and so far-fetched in my reality that I can only dream of,while only a few of them are relatable. These routines have fanciful titles like Minimalist Morning routine, Healthy and mindful evening routine, Slow living daily routine.  Although I enjoy watching these, I am often left wondering if I will ever wake up and live such beautiful and romantic routines because my morning, evening or daily routines, no matter what day are not at all dreamy or charming. MY DREAM MORNING ROUTINE With a little planning, your morning routine can help you have a great day ahead. My alarm goes off at 5, I immediately get out of bed and put on some soft, calming music.I then make coffee and read my emails while I'm taking my morning fuel. Then I put on a workout video and do a 20 minute c

MY TOP 3 TRAVEL BUCKET LIST

Image
I once came across this travel qoute " The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page!" .. I thought to myself "wow, this means I have only read one page, did I even finish it,because really the only travel I have ever done was a few episodes across the border to my neighbor-country.......needless to say I have "travelled"  far and beyond through my imagination. Every time I think of my lack of travel I draw my comfort from Albert Einstein's qoute;"Imagination is the preview of life's coming attractions", and i imagine some more.......Through social media, television and the internet I have mentally glimpsed places that speak to my soul, places that I would like to travel to some day, physically this time, and here are my top 3: MARRAKECH,MOROCCO Everything about this city fascinate me, the picturesque architecture, the amazing crafts of baskets, the bustling markets filled with colourful spices, that I could almost smell troug

MY FAVOURITE MEMORY

Image
Celine asks... what is your favourite memory? Or the first memory that comes to your mind that makes you smile?  Wow...what a question...!where do I  begin? I am happy that I was asked this question. ..It made me dig deep in my storage bank, and was able to recollect countless favourite times, spent with different people. .. And I realised I have no specific favourite that stand out...or maybe it is because the question is general.. I travelled back to my childhood days with my parents and siblings,to times with my many special friends, ..and I realised I have laughed and enjoyed my life a great deal....and picking one memory would be betraying the other...but I have to pick right? For now I will pick this one: A memory with my sister:  have always been close to my young sister  (by two years ) and we used to play these silly games that will level us with laughter ,one particular game was where we took turns carrying each other on our backs, then we would count steps and change, for som

GRANNY DEAREST

I challenged a few of my friends to ask me personal questions in order for me to answer them here in my corner...I must say they asked great, thought provoking questions,  a couple of questions made me think hard about my past, and one made me reflect about my life at present. Follow this series as I would be answering the questions weekly.  Initially I thought I would answer all the questions in one post, but some deserve a page of their own, like this one : Nozipho asks: If you had an option to go back to the past to meet a dead relative , or go to the future to meet your grand children, which one would you pi For a moment I was confused,I asked if she meant a relative I have never met, who died before I was born or when I was too young to remember, but in her own words " you know what girlfriend, it could be a relative you know or  you heard about, as long as they are past, just personalise the question" It didn't take me a second to know who I would rather meet again,

FRIENDS A cold, windy August afternoon, I'm sitting behind our house, shielding myself from the uncompromising wind ,I raise my eyes to the road only to be met with an unexpected sight. A friend, my best friend carrying a luggage bag, dressed in 'travel' clothes .She is with a stranger( a stranger to me,family to her), panic hits me!! I shout to ask her, "where are you going "? " Im going to Shoshong " she replies back.  "When are you coming back? "I asked her "I'm going to take a while," she replies excitedly.  .....And a while would turn out to be 3 years.. A friend, gone ,just like that, without saying goodbye.... I was ten years at the time, when I " lost " my best friend since birth,it was perhaps one of the saddest days of my life ,I remember sitting in the sun crying. 22 years to date windy days bring some form of sadness to me, a feeling of loss and abandonment. Isn't it amusing that I thought I would never make
